A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typographical error. The drawback of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited emails, but this problem can be rectified using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you have a Linux cloud hosting package with our company and you want to enable the catch-all feature for a specific email mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it will take literally only a single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can pick one address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all email messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will show a warning notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
